About the Position


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Clinical Associate Degree/ Bachelor Clinical Medical Practice
  • VMMC Training course
  • 1 x year experience in Public Health setting

Desirable qualifications and experience:
- Clinical Associate Degree
- Post graduate qualification in either of the following: HIV/ AIDS/ TB/ STI
- Training and experience in medical male circumcision
- 1 x year experience in surgical setting

Technical and Behavioural Competencies:
Prior experience in a clinical setting preferred
- Knowledge of male circumcision and circumcision surgical techniques preferred
- Ability to take initiative, plan and monitor activity flow and outcomes
- Capacity to manage difficult working situations
- Ability to analyze, interpret and solve difficult problems
- Capacity to work under pressure in achieving set up goals/objectives
- Ability to lead a team

Key Performance Areas

  • Plan, coordinate and offer medical male circumcision
  • Implement Voluntary Male Circumcision Programme(VMMC) at facility level in accordance with provincial and SA national guidelines
  • Ensure comprehensive package of VMMC services available
  • To participate in research projects relevant to the specific field
  • Liaise with the outreach officer and field recruiters to ensure effective recruitment of clients
  • Support establishment of new sites
  • In-service training and mentorship of the MOVE team at the sites
