About the Position

Minimum Requirements:

  • B Comm Accounting or equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years finance-related experience in a finance department at Accountant level
  • Computer literate, specifically with MS Office Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Dynamics Great Plains an added advantage

About The Employer

A leading financial institution has a position for a Foreclosure Paralegal to be based in Durban.




Duties (will include but not limited to):

  • Rehabilitation of Facilitation matters
  • Review complete status of account, history of indulgences, previous foreclosure, establish current arrear reasons, negotiate and  offer solutions, take all factors into account with a view of rehabilitation
  • The objective is to rehabilitate the account as fast as possible and with minimal costs
  • Be thorough with investigation and reasons prior to recommendations for arrangement or for escalation
  • Expedite to foreclosure where necessary and minimise losses, risk and NPL's                                                                                                             
  • Identify High risk and High balance accounts and action within agreed turnaround times 
  • Identify trigger accounts and maintain constant follow ups to reduce NPLS and avoid breach of triggers
  • Explore all avenues, make use of all tools available to assist in rehabilitation process and avoid escalation
  • Carry out administrative duties effectively and timorously in order to support key function
  • Be proactive iro managing e-mails, letters, updating systems and any other admin related duties
  • Be proactive and strategic in risk and compliance management by complying with all relevant legislation in Loss Control and continue to position risk and compliance as a critical business management pillar
  • All action to be taken within agreed mandates, policies and procedures
  • Ensure all communications, including written and verbal, are of a professional standard at all times
  • Being adaptable to change as and when the department needs require it
